What the World of Pokémon Can Teach Us About Using a Self-Storage Container

If you are excitedly wating to get your hands on the Diamond and Pearl Pokémon remakes in November just like we are, then we have just the thing to fill your time! Here at Store That we wanted to take a dive into the fabulous use of storage in the Pokémon world and what it can teach us about using a self-storage container to store our own belongings!

Bill’s Storage System

Throughout the Pokémon games, a system, invented by a Pokémon researcher named Bill, is in place that allows Pokémon to be stored and transferred. You can have six Pokémon in your battle party at a time, however, if you’re trying to catch them all, you’ll end up with far more than that. This allows a player to swap their Pokémon out for ones they have stored in ‘boxes’ via PCs in Pokémon centres and day cares, or remotely.

Whilst we can’t offer you the chance to swap your storage items in and out via your phone, we do have drive-up units for ease of access to your items, meaning you can come and go within our access hours.

Poké Balls

A genius way to store those new friends – the Poké Ball. Trainers can use these items to catch Pokémon. There are many types and depending on which one you use will determine how successful you will be at catching the Pokémon. Your battle party of six are the Pokémon you will store in your Poké Balls, and these are attached to your belt.

Bag

Just like a self-storage container at Store That, your Pokémon bag can be used to store just about anything, a bit like a Mary Poppins bag. Trainers might need to store Poke Balls, Items, Berries, and other key items, such as medicine. You might not be able to carry our spacious storage with you, but Store That can offer a many sizes including sea containers and internal units ranging from 17 – 140 sqft.

Pokémon Go

The storage in Nintendo’s first mobile Pokémon game works a little differently to the console games. Whilst you have access to all your Pokémon at once, you are limited with how many you can store and how many items you can keep in your bag unless you purchase upgrades from the shop.

Pokémon Cards

If you haven’t played the Pokémon games, perhaps you were a collector of the cards. Many older Pokémon cards are worth a lot of money and collectors across the world store them safely to ensure they are not stolen or damaged. Our self-storage container facilities have 24-hour surveillance and an in-house security team so we can guarantee your cards would be safe from Team Rocket!
