Store That Celebrate Eid al-Fitr 2024

Based in the culturally diverse city of London, Store That welcomes customers from every community. Following the celebration of Eid on the 10th April, our team wanted to take a moment to say Eid Muburak to all of our customers celebrating this occasion!

What is Eid?

Also known as ‘Holiday of Breaking the Fast’, Eid al-Fitr is a celebration within Muslim culture that follows Ramadan. It marks the end of dawn-to-sunset fasting. The date of Eid can vary each year and is dependent on the Islamic lunar calendar.

The celebration of Eid is seen as a time for strengthening your bonds within your community, including with your relatives and neighbours, and becoming united. It is also a time for Muslims to express gratitude for the blessings they received during Ramadan.

How is Eid Celebrated?

Eid al-Fitr usually begins with a special prayer at the mosque. This is usually then followed by a celebratory festive meal, gift giving, and acts of charity. Muslims also wear special attire for this occasion. There is no set rule for what is respectful, but this would usually include traditional attire, formal wear, new clothes, or modest clothing. It is usually colourful and vibrant too.

How Our Storage Solutions Can Help with Eid Preparations

Although Eid has now passed, this is a huge celebration and requires plenty of planning. If you’re already thinking about how you’d like to celebrate next year, here’s 3 ways our storage solutions can help you prepare!

1.   Decluttering Your Home

The celebration of Eid is often associated with decluttering your home during the preparation stage. If you’re on a tight deadline, using short term storage solutions like those here at Store That can help you make some room for the big day!

2.   Storing Decorations & Gifts

Eid al-Fitr celebrations usually call for lots of decorations. Additionally, as we mentioned earlier, gift-giving is also a common practise on the day. A small storage container could be a great option for those looking to store their presents prior to the celebration or decorations before and after.

3.   Additional Room for Furniture

With the Muslim faith being very community-orientated, celebrations are typically large and involve multiple households coming together. This does, however, mean that the host often requires additional furniture such as tables and chairs. Rather than paying the hefty fees for renting these, purchasing fold-away furniture will likely be a more affordable solution. Worried about storage? Store That can help!
