What Star Wars can teach us about self-storage.

As the series finally reaches it’s highly anticipated end, we at Store That decided it was time to go over the films with a fine-tooth comb and identify some of the most important teachings of the saga. No, we don’t mean the ways of the Jedi, we’re talking about something far more important…

From essential messages concealed within a droid, to the vast Jedi Temple archives, storage is represented in a multitude of ways throughout the Star Wars universe. If you are at one with the force, like we are, then you may have also picked up on the lessons we can learn from these representations. If you missed them, worry not padawans, Store That Canary Wharf is here to enlighten you.

Princess Leia’s secret message

“Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi. You’re my only hope.”

Even the most Star-Wars-ignorant people should have no trouble in recognising this famous quote. What they may not realise is the importance storage had in the delivery of the message. If the lovable R2-D2 hadn’t kept Leia’s message safe and secure, Luke never would have heard it! Meaning he would never have been inspired to join the resistance and overcome the Empire!

This goes to show that even the smallest storage space can provide amazing, and thoroughly important, assistance.

The Jedi Archives

Located in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, the Jedi Archives are an enigmatic collection of ancient knowledge and research dating back thousands upon thousands of years. A lot of this indispensable information is kept in the form of holocrons - a holographic chronicle. The secrets held within holocrons include such tantalizingly essential intelligence as classified Jedi techniques, and even lists of younglings throughout the galaxy who are born with the power of the force.

If this kind of knowledge hadn’t been kept safe by the Jedi Council for the thousands of years it had existed, there would likely be no Star Wars films for us to indulge in, as the secrets of the Jedi would have been lost to the passage of time. Here at Store That E14 we provide a service even safer and more secure than the Jedi Archives, as we would never allow our doors to be breached by the Empire.

Space Slug

In the Empire Strikes Back, the crew of the Millenium Falcon seek refuge from the Empire in Hoth’s Asteroid Belt, and fly deep into a cave for protection. What they didn’t expect to find was a gigantic, monstrous space slug. Escaping within an inch of their life, Han Solo and his crew certainly learned a lesson of the unexpected that day.

The feeling of shock and awe we all felt when seeing the carnivorous slug protrude from its hole is similar to the feeling a mysterious, old storage unit can provide. Just take shows like Storage Hunters, for example; you never know what you might find in a forgotten storage facility.

Do you have a selection of holocrons that you need to keep out of Sith hands? Or perhaps just some old furniture that needs a home? Come on down to Store That and take advantage of our storage containers for rent!
