Insurance

Insurance of the goods is mandatory with a charge of £4.20 per £1,000 of value (if your goods are worth £3,000, insurance would cost you £12.60 per calendar month, including VAT).
The minimum cover required is £1,000 at a cost of £4.20pcm.

Commercial insurance policies contain an Average condition.  This means that if at the time of damage, the sum insured contained in the policy is less than the value of the item covered by such sum insured the amount payable by the insurer will be proportionately reduced, therefore it is vital that the sums insured are adequate.

We strongly advise that you insure your goods for the correct replacement value, otherwise, in the unlikely event of a claim, insurers will use the “average clause” on any settlement.

packaging

We strongly advise that soft furnishings/mattresses are covered with protective covers and valuable items such as electronic devices are well wrapped and protected. We sell all the necessary packaging materials, such as; boxes, tape, bubble wrap, blankets, polythene covers, padlocks etc.

access hours

Our access hours are the same as our opening times;

Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm

Within these hours, you are free to access your storage unit(s) as often or as little as you’d like. There’s no need to “check-in” at reception every time you visit. We are closed evenings, weekends & bank holidays. At our discretion, we may make exceptions and arrange for a member of staff to be called out to open up, out of hours - this may be chargeable, which is to be arranged with the Store Manager.

Costs & Fees

We let you know, upfront, all the costs that will be involved before you move in. There are 3 things you need to consider; storage fees, insurance and a padlock to secure your room (if you don’t already own a suitable one). You can either buy a padlock from us (we sell them on-site) or provide your own.

Storage is paid in advance and is per calendar month. So when you move in you will need to pay for your first storage period.

Insurance is dependent on the full new replacement value of your goods, if you had to buy them again today. The cost of insurance starts from £4.20 per calendar month for £1,000 of cover.

We don’t have a price list, but you can get a quote for any unit by calling the office on 0207 515 1300, sending us an email on info@storethat.co.uk or by filling out the form on the contact page.

secondary access

You can set up as many or as few people as you require to have access to your room. They need to be named on your account and you need to have given them your access code and padlock key / combination number.
