Let’s face it, the weather hasn’t been the best recently; it’s only going to get worse. One question we are often asked is ‘are your sea container rentals waterproof?’. We can say with certainty that they are! Preventing Damp

Despite our waterproof units, sometimes, damp can find a way in (i.e by a customer putting in damp goods or using the container in the pouring rain, leaving the doors open).

It’s better to be prepared, even if the chances are slim. Damp and moisture are some of the worst things that your belongings can be exposed to, so you must ensure you take your storage seriously and take precautions.

Packing Your Unit Correctly 

Here at Store That, we have a range of sea container rentals and other storage unit types for all your storage needs.  Sea container floors are raised off the ground and remember, they are built to be shipped on vessels with open decks, withstanding lashing seas whilst they cross the continents, back and forth, year after year.

If you feel the urge to go the extra mile, you could line the floor with plastic sheets but no one has had the need to do so, as of yet. You can also store your boxes on top of wooden pallets which will add an extra barrier and, in any of our units, we normally provide these free of charge if a customer prefers to do so. Always store clothes in boxes, as bin bags can sometimes encourage damp to build and leave your clothes to possibly accumulate mould.
