Secure Self-storage in E14 for Motorbikes

Here at Store That, we often get asked if our secure self-storage in E14 can be used to store motorbikes. The answer is simple: yes! If you’re out of town for a while or the weather isn’t on your side, you may want to consider storing away your ride for the time being. Our storage units are a great way to ensure your bike remains in tip top condition until you’re ready to take it for a spin again.

What are the advantages?

Before we go full speed ahead on how to store motorcycles, let’s discuss some of the benefits that our secure self-storage in E14 can offer bike enthusiasts...

  1. Security – we have an in-house security team and 24/7 CCTV surveillance, so you can be rest assured that your ride is in safe hands with us. Furthermore, we only allow visitors when our staff are on-site and recommend using a durable padlock on your unit for additional reassurance.

  2. Protection – the leather, plastic and paint on motorbikes can become vulnerable when exposed to certain weather conditions, meaning it’s crucial to keep your ride protected from the elements.

  3. Flexibility – we offer contracts as short as one-month and have a 14-day notice period in place in case you’re ready to get rocking and rolling with your ride sooner than expected.

  4. Affordability – buying a garage or building an extension at home to store your motorbike can be very expensive. In comparison, renting secure self-storage in E14 is a fraction of the price!

NB. All bikes in store will have to be drained of fuel and no fuel allowed in storage.

How to store motorbikes over winter

Knowing how to correctly store your bike is one thing, but preparing it for long-term storage over the winter season is another thing all together. Here are a few of our top tips to keep your ride spic and span during the off-season. Before storing, we recommend:

  • Clean your motorbike thoroughly and dry it off.

  • Change the oil, and both the oil and air filters.

  • Adjust and lube the chain as necessary.

  • Remove the battery and store it in a cool and dry place.

  • Inflate the tyres.

  • Cover the tailpipe to prevent anything getting inside.

  • Cover your bike with a breathable and waterproof cover.

Drive-up units

Ranging in sizes from 70 to 135 sqft, our drive-up units are ideal for storing motorbikes. After all, their name says it all! Our drive-up units allow you to literally, “drive-up” to them and store your ride with ease. Furthermore, their raised concrete base and insulated roof add extra protection from the elements.
