Things to do in Canary Wharf this Winter
East London is the place to be this festive season! However, with so much going on, it can be tough deciding what to do! The team at Store That E14 have put together some of their favourite Christmas events coming to Canary Wharf and the surrounding areas this winter.
Winter Wonderland
A classic festive event loved by all – Winter Wonderland – in Hyde Park is opening from 17th November for all to enjoy. You’ll find everything you need for a perfect day out; ice skating, the Magical Ice Kingdom, fairground rides, an acrobatic circus and plenty of market stalls for Christmas shopping – there certainly is something for everybody!
Ice Rink in Canary Wharf
Skate beneath the enchanting skyline and spend some quality time with family and friends this winter. Plus, the breath-taking glass ceiling means come rain or shine, there’s nothing stopping you getting your skates on!
With themed sessions, such as 80s and Soul Classics nights, there’s something for all to dance along to. If you’re not much of a skater yourself, worry not; the Grandstand Bar will transform into an alpine retreat! This is the perfect place to watch the rink with a mulled wine around the fire pit.
Winter Lights
The Winter Lights festival transforms Canary Wharf into a beautiful canvas with over 20 spectacular illuminating displays. Bringing together some of the most innovative light artists from around the world, this event showcases interactive exhibitions and some new installations that have never been seen before. You won’t want to miss this spectacular sight!
London Bridge Christmas Market
Known as one of the most picturesque Christmas markets in the city, Winter by the River is back again this year to help you get in the holiday spirit. With numerous food stalls and home-made gifts for sale, it’s the perfect spot to do your shopping whilst taking in the wonderful city and river views. What’s more, it’s been voted as the best Christmas market for a first date, so it’s the perfect setting for a real-life winter rom com!
Christmas Carols
Don’t miss out on seeing over 40 carol groups gathering around the world-famous Christmas tree in Trafalgar Square this festive season. The marvellous singers will be filling spectators with Christmas cheer, whilst raising money for charity - what’s not to love!
