Who Said Holidays Were Relaxing?
The long Easter weekend arrives like a golden promise: four whole days of doing absolutely nothing. For many men, it’s a sacred vision—feet up, snacks within arm’s reach, and a carefully planned schedule of wall-to-wall sport. Bliss.
And then… reality lands. The other half, has other ideas!
Somewhere between Good Friday and the first kick-off, a list appears. Not a casual suggestion list, mind you—more of a detailed project plan. Suddenly, the weekend includes “sorting out the garage,” “fixing that thing you said you’d fix in 2022,” and the ever-mysterious “general tidy-up.”
Cue the sighs. The groans. The quiet calculation of whether one can hang a shelf during half-time.
To be fair, it’s not entirely unreasonable. Life has a habit of piling up little jobs until they become big ones. But there’s something uniquely cruel about watching a four-day relaxation fantasy dissolve into a DIY marathon.
That said, there’s a clever workaround that can restore a bit of balance (and maybe even some goodwill): storage. Instead of tripping over clutter or spending hours reorganising, a storage unit can be a game-changer. Pack away the chaos, keep only what you actually need at home, and suddenly those “urgent” jobs become far more manageable—or at least less visible.
It’s not quite the dream of uninterrupted sport, but it’s a compromise. A shelf here, a box there, and maybe—just maybe—you’ll still catch the second half in peace.
After all, Easter is about renewal. And sometimes that starts with clearing out the garage… or at least hiding it somewhere else.
We have a massive choice of styles and sizes of storage units here at Store That in East London.
So, if you are looking for self-storage around the Canary Wharf area, you may well get to your self-storage unit during the half time; these days, even between those incredibly long ad breaks!
Happy Easter
